The Toronto Centre for Advanced Reproductive Technology (TCART), under the direction of Dr. Robert F. Casper, was founded in 1993 to assist infertile couples who have been unable to conceive through standard infertility techniques previously available in Canada. By adopting the latest techniques and technology, TCART initiated a reputation at an early stage in the naissance of Canadian infertility treatment of being the unique environment in Canada where innovations were established. TCART was one of the first ICSI centres in Canada and in North America.
The Centre offers a caring and confidential environment made up of health care professionals dedicated to the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of fertility treatment. The staff at TCART regard quality patient care as their foremost directive in addressing patient’s needs. TCART physicians are members of the Division of Reproductive Sciences, in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Toronto. TCART’s unique medical team provides patients with options to participate in research protocols approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB), and be at the forefront of innovations in fertility treatment.
Patient education is an essential component of treatment at TCART. Information is made available to patients regarding all aspects of care. The TCART team encourages patients to ask questions to help them fully understand the various treatment options.
